Foil balloons, helium, 10-euro note, dust, loudspeaker, 6-channel sound composition.
In times of growing inequality of resources, the proverb “everyone cooks only with water” becomes a reminder of the material dependency of all bodies – regardless of economic or social status. In the water tower exhibition space, helium-filled foil balloons carry this message letter by letter through the air. Language is both dematerialized and staged physically.
Between the balloons, loudspeakers are suspended – some even carried by them – making the vertical axis of the water tower perceptible. The six-channel sound composition begins with synthetic clicks, auditory fragments without space or origin. Gradually, these sounds transform into recordings of falling euro coins, captured on different levels of the tower.
The use of euro coins not only invokes the idea of money as a resonating body, but also raises questions about economic value, the circulation of resources, and the physical presence of abstract systems. Capital becomes audible – not as a transactional unit, but as an acoustic trace within an architectonic structure.
