The work translates the echo of a single point in the Wiesbaden city forest into a three-dimensional space.

Found object, branches and pieces of wood, copper, speaker.
The form of the wood is far more transient than that of the copper, creating a shape that will eventually disappear. The copper completes the speaker's circuit, allowing individual, isolated sounds of the forest to be heard.

Selected sites of particular sonic quality are activated through musical performance. The performer enters into direct dialogue with the acoustic character of the forest.

When visitors clap their hands, they trigger various acoustic impulses from the forest. The sounds of the forest enter into dialogue with the architecture of the exhibition space.

Develar el espacio is a piece for 2 to 12 performers that explores and renders audible the distances, positions, and resonances generated by an outdoor space.

This room presents immersive 3D audio recordings made over the course of a year in the Wiesbaden city forest. In total, 12 fragments of 5 minutes each explore the different seasons.
This project was originally inspired by acoustic measurements made by Professor Yoichi Ando in Japanese forests. Advances in instrumentation allowed us to conduct experiments that produced recordings of the forests in a 3D audio format. The recording techniques (ESMA-3D) were developed by Dr. Hyunkok Lee and adapted for this project.
Tres Bosques (three forests) is a research project by the artist collective of the same name, dedicated to the acoustic preservation of forested areas in Wiesbaden. The project is supported by the Kulturamt (Cultural Office) as part of the Konzeptförderung Musik (Music Concept Funding) program.
Tres Bosques is formed by Alexis Campos, Juan Bermúdez, and Wingel Mendoza.
