Timescape No.1 was created for the Walpodenkalender 2022 at the Mainzer Kunstverein Walpodenstraße 21 e.V. The work was also presented in 2024 at LTK 4 in Cologne as a four-channel audio installation. Candles hold nails in place. As they burn, the nails fall one by one onto the metal surfaces below, each nail drop amplified and extended in duration. The work turns fire into a clock: unpredictable, alive, and indifferent to the time we keep.
